OUR MEETINGS AND EVENTS
We are a very active group and have lots of events across the year. Some events are included in our reasonable membership subscription, other are subject to a small fee per event. Contact us to find out more about what would suit you. The list below details our lace meetings, general craft 'do days', workshops and lace days.
Tuesday Group
This group meets most Tuesday mornings and is especially suited to those new to lacemaking. We have kit for you to borrow to start with and then, should you wish to continue, we can give advice on everything you'll need, and we have preloved equipment for sale. Patterns and thread will be supplied.

Wednesday Evenings
This is the original self help group that meets on the fourth Wednesday eveining of the month, but only when the evenings are lighter. Enjoy a lacemaking session whilst chatting to likeminded friends.

Saturday Do Days
This is an all day session - so bring your lunch! You don't have to do lace, so it is an ideal opportunity for you to catch up on your other projects. Crafts that members bring include beading, crotcheting and tatting. These usually happen on the second Saturday of the month but on occasion will be the first week.

Workshops
Twice yearly, we hold a beading workshop with an external tutor. We also hold a lace workshop, hosted by a couple of our members, who pick a themed project for participants to make and later display at our annual Lace Day. We also sometimes have adhoc workshops exploring different lace techniques.

Lace Days
In early Spring, the Risboro' Lacemakers group organises a Lace Day at a local Village Hall. We are joined by two lace equipment suppliers and usually a second hand sales table. There is a themed lace exhibition, raffles, plus tea and cake. Fellow lacemakers travel from far and wide to attend this enjoyable event.

Talks and Demonstrations
In order to spread our love of lacemaking, we often demonstrate at events - sometimes as a part of wider ones such as The Risborough Festival, sometimes to celebrate special days such as National Lace Day. On other occasions we might be invited to speak and demonstrate lace, for example at another local craft group.
